How to estimate the Weight of Platinum for Casting
|Platinum Alloy||Specific Gravity||Wax to Metal Ratio|
|90 / 10 Iridium||21.5||Weight of wax X 21.5|
|95 / 5 Iridium||21.4||Weight of wax X 21.4|
|Platinum / Cobalt||20.8||Weight of wax X 20.8|
|Platinum / Ruthenium||20.65||Weight of wax X 20.65|
|Pt 950 / Heat Treatable||19.3||Weight of wax X 19.3|
Knowing the weight of platinum is important for pricing finished product.
When working with a model material, the following formula should be used to find the weight of platinum required.
