When dissolved in warm water, this product will permanently plate an antique, dark finish on silver and copper surfaces. The solution can be used in Pyrex beakers or stainless steel containers and will turn silver from brown to blue to green to light gray, and then finally black. The outside raised surfaces can be buffed for a bright shine while leaving the recessed background a dark, antique look.
